Synopsis:
Set in the industrial hinterland of outer Munich, a young American backpacker attempts to cure his loneliness by forcing himself to go dancing with a group of new friends. As the night roars along into a fit of wild abandon, our narrator realizes it’ll take far more than the perfect song to lift his spirits.
About the Collection:
Created as a response to the record album "Night Work" by the Scissor Sisters, the Nightwork transmedia collection returns to the album's world of disco lights and transient encounters to tell the story of a young man who has given himself the freedom to find his own way, only to come face to face with the most difficult question of his life.
The Nightwork collection is the second installment in Sparrow Hall's exploration of transmedia (multi-media) storytelling—allowing readers to immerse themselves in the world of his characters by providing multiple ways of experiencing the story—through literature, music and art.
The Nightwork collection includes the short story as an e-book, along with a soundtrack featuring 2 new original songs by critically-acclaimed synthpop duo A Crowd Electric (remixes for Madonna, Britney Spears, Crystal Castles) , and electropop producer Brian Scibinico. The collection also includes a printable poster featuring the work of Giovanni di Mola (VICE Magazine, Italian Vogue).
About Transmedia Storytelling:
Embodying a larger experience than a simple book could ever offer, transmedia storytelling allows your imagination to flow beyond the page to further explore the universe of its characters. Whether it's an e-book you're reading on the way to work, a song you're playing on your iPod, or a beautiful image hanging on your wall, there is a multitude of ways to reconnect with, and expand upon, the magic of the story.
